This is my submission to a contest started by Dan Meyer to see how people sell themselves in picture and text only slides. It could be for a college application, a job interview, or whatever. More information on Dan’s blog here.

Ethan - impressive presentation: I concede! Regards from someone in the “18 through death” category.
Sa-weeeet…
Although you will be surprised how many of the 0-17 will come up in 18-death
Keep doing what you’re doing…
So good, it doesn’t even hurt to think of losing to you.
What? Are you trying to win? Trying to show up the adults who have been dutifully doing PPt presentations year after year?
You think this will stand well with your competitors?
Nicely done, my friend!
Cheers,
Christina
Excellent idea for the first picture! Was it a conscience decision to divide the slides the way you did, two pictures and two graphics? With your insight and knowledge you will go VERY far. I got a chance to click through your flicker album the other day, very cool stuff. Your work is whimsical and the “let go of the perfect” style is such a departure from most designers! Keep up the good work and don’t stop posting.
Hi Ethan,
Thanks Paul Harrington
I heard your interview with DK from Mediasnackers earlier today, excellent ideas ( from a teacher of 19 years - now into web 2.0 - I get it!)
I am not even going to bother to enter the competition because if your excellent slides and ideas don’t win I will eat my hat ( not wearing one !!!!)
I like your ideas re learning in the future
beautiful work. design makes a lot of people happy. and as designers, it’s fun making people happy. keep it up
I’ve never commented here before; I’m a friend of Dan Meyer. Anyway I really like your slides, especially the Design Makes Me Happy slide. That slide makes me smile. It also kind of reminds me of some scenes from Rushmore (Wes Anderson film) looking down on a desk. Well done.
Thanks to everybody for their support and comments.
